A Doctor that has trained and committed long term to being a quality General Practitioner will have previously worked in the Hospital system for a number of years, then spent a minimum of three years (and usually more) in specialty training to eventually become a Fellow of the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners (FRNZCGP). All our doctors have either achieved this, holding the qualification of FRNZCGP, or are well on their way to this goal
Conrad (MBChB. DipObst. FRNZCGP) grew up in Manurewa, trained at Auckland Medical School and has worked as a General Practitioner at Manurewa Medical since 1992. Along with all aspects of family medicine he has a particular interest General Practitioner training.
Matthew (MBChB) was born and bred in South Auckland and completed his medical training in the South Island before coming back to his roots in Manurewa. He feels a genuine connection with the people in this area. In his junior Dr years, he rotated through multiple medical specialties, including 9 months in Starship before embarking on his GP journey.
James (MBChB) was born and bred in Auckland and studied medicine at the University of Auckland. After graduating, he worked in Whakatane and Tauranga for a few years, before moving back home. He had experience as a general practice registrar in the hospital system, before training as General Practitioner. James implements a holistic approach and has an interest in palliative care.
Rowan (BSc, MBChB, FRNZCGP) studied medicine at The University of Auckland and initially worked at Waitakere and North Shore Hospitals before moving to American Samoa with her family, where she worked in Emergency Medicine for three years. Rowan returned to New Zealand in 2011 to complete her specialty training in General Practice and after working in Rural General Practice in Opotiki for a number of years, returned to Auckland in 2016. Rowan enjoys all aspects of General Practice with a particular interest in Women's, Youth and Pacific Health.
Angela (MBChB, BApp Sc, Dip Paed, PG Cert Womens Health, BCom) grew up in Christchurch and graduated from the University of Otago. After several years working in Tauranga Hospital, she joined Manurewa Medical in 2018. Angela has particular interests in women's and child health, even more so now she has her own children.
